Dr. Kathleen McNally Kazdan
DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Dr. K has been practicing as a certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse for over 20 years. She continues to work in family practice and as adjunct faculty at the Christine E. Lynn School of Nursing at FAU. She is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) and was chosen to present her Quality Improvement Project on improving provider adherence to adult obesity guidelines in clinical practice at the 2019 OMA Fall Convention.
Dr. K works in family practice alongside Dr. Todd Kazdan, DO. In her day-to-day work at the practice she witnesses the psychological and physical challenges faced by patients with weight control issues. Too many times she consoled patients who had tried expensive, often unsafe solutions and ended up heavier and less healthy than ever. These heart wrenching encounters prompted her to develop a research-based weight control program promoting safe, long term solutions. This office-based program is not about gimmicks, quick fixes, or prepackaged foods: it is about evidence based behavioral change for a lifetime of weight control!
Estefania earned both her Master of Science degree and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She currently works and resides in Colorado. While a doctoral student at NSU; she was instrumental in developing the behavioral change program. She contributed with expertise in Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the use of Mindfulness to promote weight control.
